Arncott Parish Council

Village Hall

Arncott Village Hall is a fantastic facility of which the residents of Arncott can be justifiably proud. Owned by the Parish Council it is leased and run by a registered charity - The Village Hall Management Committee (VHMC). The VHMC also form the trust board for the charity. The decisions of the trust VHMC are guided by a trust deed which emphasises the use of the Village Hall as a local resource for local people.

Meetings of the VHMC are held on the third Tuesday of each month and are open to the general public. If you would like to get involved with the hall committee, please come along to a meeting and introduce yourself. The meetings begin at 7pm and are usually done by 8.30pm.

Arncott Village Hall is a spacious modern building with high quality facilities available for a huge variety of uses. It is an ideal environment for hosting social, business, sporting or functions.

The main hall is bright and airy with a raised stage at one end and will shortly be equipped with a high quality internal and external sound system. For meeting events there is room for 135 people seated on our cushioned seats. For other events the hall can comfortably accommodate up to 150 people. We can also provide both large and small tables where required. Outside the hall there is a grassed area to spill out onto during the hot summer and an adjoining play park for toddler age children. The hall adjoins the village playing fields which can be booked by contacting the Parish Council separately.

The kitchen area is large and well equipped with modern cooker and cooking equipment. There is also crockery, cutlery and tableware. The double sink and dishwasher help lighten the load at the end of a busy day.

The Village Hall has a recently refurbished bar and a newly installed glass washer. Fridges are also available. It should be noted that for any event involving the sale of alcohol a licence must be obtained and the management committee can assist with that.

There is a shower and changing area within the building which will become available for hiring during 2021/2022.

The management committee is fully committed to access for all and the hall is fully accessible for all mobility needs. The modern sound system has zone control providing clear high quality sound for hearing impaired users without hearing assistance and an inductance loop for hearing aid and cochlear implant users. The disabled toilets have a wide door access and a small chicane which I find quite fun to negotiate at high speed in my wheelchair. This area also contains the discreet baby changing facilities.

The hall has easy access for loading and unloading and an adjoining parking area with ample space for most events. Although a rural village, Arncott is easily accessible from the A41. Hotels and bed / breakfast businesses can be found in the nearby town of Bicester.

Arncott Village Hall is a fantastic venue for both social and business purposes. With our network of contacts we can also assist with arrangements for almost any occasion.

The village hall has a standard entertainment licence which allows the performance of live and recorded music. WiFi is next on the to do list!

The village hall is listed on the Community First Oxfordshire website here.
